Artwork · Ready for Production

File Preparation
Made Clear.

Use this checklist before sending artwork. Complete files help prevent delays, preserve image quality, and keep color and finishing details production-ready.

01 · File Formats

Start with the right file.

Choose the option that best matches the way your project was prepared.

Native files

Package the working file.

When native files are requested, package the InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop document with every linked image and font. Compress the complete folder as a ZIP before uploading.

Print-ready

PDF files are also accepted.

Export using a high-quality print preset, include the document bleed settings, and confirm that the finished page size is correct.

02 · Images & Color

Protect the details.

Prepare artwork at its final reproduction size whenever possible.

C

Resolution

Images must be at least 300 PPI at final printed size. For the highest-quality reproduction, 400 PPI is preferred.

M

Accepted image files

JPEG, TIFF, PSD, EPS, PDF, and PNG files can be supplied when appropriate for the artwork.

Y

Print color

Convert images and documents to GRACoL CMYK. RGB color can shift when it is converted for production.

K

Black type

Use 100% black for small black type. Review Pantone or PMS specifications for critical brand colors.

03 · Fonts & Links

Keep every piece together.

Include every font and linked image used by the document. Do not reduce, compress, or flatten image files before packaging unless your Mighty Color representative requests it.

  • Use the application’s Package command when available.
  • Confirm there are no missing or modified links.
  • Include every font needed to reproduce the artwork.
  • ZIP the complete folder before transferring it.

04 · Specialty Finishes

Separate special effects.

Foil, spot UV, and emboss areas need production-ready artwork that is easy to identify.

  • Supply each finish as a separate file or clearly named layer.
  • Build the finish with 100% of one CMYK separation.
  • Use solid artwork unless the production plan calls for screens or gradients.
  • Keep every effect aligned with the main design.

05 · Before You Send

One last check.

A quick preflight now can prevent production delays later.
